GDLN in the Region
The Global Network is defined by its members and strategic alliances: members such as Centers or programming providers, who contribute to identifying needs or provide financial support for the Centers or program participants.

At present, GDLN has 15 member countries in the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Region, as well as the valuable participation of Spain, through its Distance Education Center for Economic and Technological Development (CEDDET). Contents come from a variety of sources, including academic institutions, public training institutes, international agencies and private companies sponsoring the DLCs.

Collaboration. The LAC region is characterized by active, ongoing participation by the Center and Regional Team staff, to define the Global Network’s strategy and operation, as well as to assure quality and measure the impact achieved by its programming. This collaboration takes a number of forms. More information is available at: “GDLN Family”.
Regional Programming. The Global Network’s learning events offer an opportunity to bring together all related parties within a sector, so they can share their experiences and teach each other, as well as their peers in other countries. How are local needs for dialogue and training determined? How is the work planned in a sector? To learn about the regional strategy for our programming, click here.
Network of Networks. Many of the member countries in the Region have, in turn, or are developing, their own national networks. This enables different parties in the countries involved to take part in, or offer, Global Network contents.
Committees. The working committees are considered flexible instruments that allow for responding to central themes that influence the daily work and future of the network. The members of the committees are the very members of the Distance Learning Centers (DLCs) that make up the network. Each committee is made up of four or five members and is led by a representative of one of the DLCs. Additionally, each committee has the support of a member of the World Bank GDLN-LAC coordinating team.
