December
4th, 2003 - Washington DC, USA
1.
Can lessons learned in one country help another?
2.
Can you add value to your projects by bringing together
the perspectives of stakeholders from different countries?
3.
Are you interested in building capacity with client
agencies?
4.
Are you looking for ways to establish Knowledge Networks
between stakeholders involved in similar activities?
Dr. Milagrito Montenegro, Director of the Global Development
Learning Network (GDLN) Center in Peru (GDLN Peru-PUCP),
presented the GDLN Peru experience and showed how GDLN
can help respond to these and other key questions. Through
a partnership between the Pontificia Universidad Catolica
del Peru (PUCP), GDLN has been active in Peru since
December 2000. Since its inception, GDLN Peru-PUCP has
been providing training to Peru's public sector officials;
promoting regional and global dialogues on best practices
in development; bringing international experience and
learning programs to the country; and maintaining a
national dialogue on key areas of development. Through
its convening power, technological infrastructure, and
knowledge sharing programs, GDLN Peru promotes an innovative
approach to development, connecting local development
practitioners with peers in the region and around the
world. With the coming of Internet 2, the Red Clara
in Latin America, and the creation of the Red Academica
Peruana (RAP), GDLN will also have a truly nationwide
reach.
