Work
Plan In
this section, you will find the GDLN-LAC Work Plan for the Private Sector and
Business Development Sector, including identification of the sector, the comprehensive
plan, policy priorities and the local action required. For this sector, we
have a pilot program, the main partners in which are the Italian business sector
- grouped together in the Milan Chamber of Commerce - and the trade and business
institutions of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay (the APU countries). In this framework,
GDLN- LAC and the Milan Chamber of Commerce would like to strengthen linkages
of friendship and the spirit of cooperation among these countries, seeking to
promote economic and social development in order to assure better quality of life
for their peoples. An agreement has been signed that will make it possible to
share successful experiences of Italian entrepreneurs with their Latin American
peers. This proposal arose in view of the need to promote an increased flow
of goods and services, as well as mutual investments. Aware of the importance
of reinforcing their trade and investment relations - through business procedures
and practices that abide by international standards - in order to reinforce relations
among the entrepreneurial sector of the different countries, it has been agreed
to increase the APU countries' corporate technological capacity by providing companies
with the expertise generated by successful companies in Italy. Therefore, the
idea is to find new markets and identify investment opportunities.
Regional
Needs In collaboration with the World Bank Latin America and the Caribbean
Region and in direct coordination with our Strategic Partners, GDLN has defined
the private sector and business development needs and priorities at the regional
level. Strategic Partners
During the private sector and business
development process, strategic partnerships have been established with institutional
leaders pursuing activities in this sector.
