The growth of micro and small business income and employment
are vital to raise living standards and reduce income
inequality among lower-income communities in Latin America.
They account for between two-thirds and three-quarters
of all private sector employment, half of which comes
from micro businesses that operate on their own or employ
fewer than 10 employees. It is in this context, that
GDLN has launched four initiatives directed to addressing
the challenges being faced by MSMEs in the region.
